Automotive 40-V to 1-kV input flyback reference design supporting regenerative braking test
This power supply reference design for automotive auxiliary circuits generates a 15-V: 4-A output from a wide input range of 40 V to 1 kV and up to a 1.2-kV transient. The design fits ideally into an 800-V batterydriven hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) or electric vehicle(EV) traction inverter system. The 40-V minimum input voltage supports the functional safety test for the regenerative braking from the traction motor. This reference design implements a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET with high blocking voltage and low gate charge to reduce switching losses. A non-isolated level shifter enables driving the SiC MOSFET from the Si MOSFET driver embedded in the flyback controller. The board includes two flyback converter variants: primary-side regulation (PSR) and optocoupler feedback to make comparisons and address different needs. The transformer design meets qualifications for Automotive AEC-Q200 Grade 1 with reinforced isolation.

Bidirectional DC/DC Converter Reference Design for 12-V/48-V Automotive Systems
The TIDA-01168 reference design is a four-phase: bidirectional DC-DC converter development platform for 12-V/48-V automotive systems. The system uses two LM5170-Q1 current controllers and a TMS320F28027F microcontroller (MCU) for the power stage control. LM5170-Q1 subsystems use average current feedback for current control whereas the C2000™ microcontroller provides voltage feedback. Such a control scheme eliminates phase current balancing typical for multiphase converters. A system based on LM5170-Q1 allows a high level of integration: which reduces printed-circuit board (PCB) area: simplifies design: and speeds up development.

SiC/IGBT isolated gate driver reference design with thermal diode and sensing FET
This reference design is an IGBT or SiC isolated gate driver power stage driving a IGBT module with advanced protection features. The design consists of a single phase power stage from a traction inverter supporting high level of safety features. The IGBT module has integrated thermal diode for temperature monitoring and sensing FET for over current protection: providing fast and accurate protections. It includes the bias supplies and its output voltage monitoring: isolated DC bus sensing in redundant circuits: temp sensing for high side and low side drivers: PWM gate signal monitoring: fault signal injection diagnostics. The supply accepts a wide input range of 4.5V to 65V DC: and delivers up to 180mA output current. The isolated gate driver has up to ±10A drive strength and also includes an analog to PWM converter: which is utilized for temperature and voltage sensing.

Precision PWM Dimming LED Driver Reference Design for Automotive Lighting
This reference design shows how to use pulse width modulation (PWM) to dim an automotive headlight or tail light with precision of better than 2% duty cycle without the necessity of using a microcontroller. This allows the design to be cost competitive. Devices used in this design are the TPS92691-Q1 multi-topology LED driver in boost and boost to battery configuration controlling the LEDs. TLC555-Q1 LinCMOS timer: together with OPA2377-Q1 operational amplifier: measure and generate an accurate PWM signal by applying a feedback loop and a precision shunt regulator for setting the duty cycle accurately. The design's input stage is EMI/EMC filtered and can be directly supplied by the car's battery.

Automotive 400-V battery to 12-V: 3.6-kW DC/DC converter reference design
This reference design is a 3.6-kW: automotive 400-V to 12-V unidirectional converter which converts the 200-V to 450-V DC input to 12-V: 300-A maximum output. Circuit breaker is applied for overcurrent and overvoltage protection. The converter is designed with SiC MOSFETs on the high voltage side and driven by 5.7-kVRMS: reinforced isolated dual-channel gate drivers. The enhanced phase-shifted full-bridge controller implements programmable delays which ensure zero voltage switching (ZVS) over a wide range of operating conditions. It offers multiple lightload management features including burst mode and dynamic SR on and off control when transitioning in and out of discontinuous current mode (DCM) operation. The output implements synchronous rectification: which enables fast transient response and a high-loop bandwidth.

11W Automotive LED Lighting Driver Reference Design
PMP20305 is an LED driver circuit reference design using the LM5022-Q1 boost controller IC and two types of constant-current methods to drive 4 strings of LEDs. Two of the LED strings utilize the TL431 voltage reference as a driver to perform a constant current source: while the other two strings utilize the TL4242 linear LED driver IC: which also features a PWM-controlled brightness adjust scheme. The input voltage range of the circuit is 6Vin to 16Vin (24Vin Peak). The output of the LM5022-Q1 boost converter is set to 26.9Vout and is capable of supplying a total of 0.4A of current to the loads.

Automotive Dual Channel SiC MOSFET Gate Driver Reference Design with Two Level Turn-off Protection
This reference design is an automotive qualified isolated gate driver solution for driving Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs in half bridge configuration. The design includes two push pull bias supplies for the dual channel isolated gate driver respectively and each supply provides +15V and -4V output voltage and 1W output power. The gate driver is capable of delivering 4A source and 6A sink peak current. It implements reinforced isolation and can withstand 8kV Peak and 5.7kV RMS isolation voltage and >100V/ns common mode transient immunity (CMTI). The reference design contains the two-level turn-off circuit which protects the MOSFET from voltage overshoot during the short circuit scenario. The DESAT detection threshold and the delay time for second stage turn-off are configurable. The ISO7721-Q1 digital isolator is implemented for interfacing the signals of fault and reset. All designed on a two layer PCB board with a compact form factor of 40mm × 40mm.
