  • Omron recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended. Additionally, a thermal pad on the bottom of the device should be connected to a heat sink or a thermal plane on the PCB.

  • The maximum operating temperature range for XC5E-3221 is -40°C to 125°C. However, Omron recommends operating the device within the range of -20°C to 85°C for optimal performance and reliability.

  • Omron recommends using ESD protection devices such as TVS diodes or ESD arrays on the input/output lines to protect the XC5E-3221 from electrostatic discharge. Additionally, handling the device with an anti-static wrist strap or mat is recommended.
