  • STMicroelectronics recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and a separate layer for the high-voltage traces to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  • To ensure reliable start-up, ensure that the input voltage (VIN) is within the recommended range, and the output capacitor (COUT) is properly sized to handle the inrush current. Also, add a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during start-up.

  • The VIPER100A-22-E is rated for operation from -40°C to 150°C (junction temperature). However, for reliable operation, it's recommended to keep the junction temperature below 125°C.
