TSP-BFM24 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Traco Power recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area connected to the tab of the device to ensure good thermal conduction. A minimum of 1 square inch of copper area is recommended.

  • To ensure the output voltage is within the specified tolerance, it is recommended to use a minimum load of 10% of the maximum rated output current. Additionally, the input voltage should be within the specified range, and the device should be operated within the recommended temperature range.

  • The maximum capacitance on the output depends on the specific application and the desired level of output voltage ripple. As a general guideline, Traco Power recommends a maximum capacitance of 10uF to 22uF. However, it is recommended to consult with Traco Power's application engineers for specific guidance.

  • Traco Power recommends using external overvoltage protection (OVP) and undervoltage protection (UVP) circuits to protect the device from abnormal input voltage conditions.
