RAC10-15SK/277 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • RECOM recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area for heat dissipation, and a minimum of 2oz copper thickness. A thermal via array under the module can also improve heat dissipation.

  • Ensure a soft-start circuit is implemented to limit the inrush current during start-up. A slow ramp-up of the input voltage can also help prevent damage to the converter.

  • RECOM recommends using low-ESR capacitors with a minimum capacitance of 10uF for the input and 22uF for the output. The capacitors should be rated for the maximum input and output voltages, respectively.

  • The RAC10-15SK/277 is rated for operation up to 80°C ambient temperature. For higher temperatures, derating of the output power may be necessary. Consult the datasheet for derating curves.

  • Implement overcurrent protection (OCP) and overvoltage protection (OVP) circuits to prevent damage to the module. The OCP should be set to 150% of the maximum output current, and the OVP should be set to 10% above the maximum output voltage.
