Mini-Circuits recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and a via-stitched ground plane under the device. A low-impedance path to the ground plane is crucial for optimal performance. Refer to the application note AN-60-014 for more details.
To achieve the best possible noise figure, ensure that the input is properly matched to 50 ohms, and the device is operated within its recommended operating conditions. Additionally, use a high-quality, low-noise power supply and ensure good thermal management.
The maximum input power that the QCN-12AD+ can handle is +10 dBm. Exceeding this limit may result in damage to the device or degradation of its performance.
While the QCN-12AD+ is designed for 50 ohm systems, it can be used in non-50 ohm systems with proper impedance matching. However, this may require additional circuitry and may affect the device's performance.
