  • CUI Inc recommends a PCB layout with a solid ground plane and thermal vias to dissipate heat. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended for the PCB. Additionally, a thermal interface material (TIM) with a thermal conductivity of 1 W/m-K or higher is suggested to improve heat transfer between the module and the heat sink.

  • To ensure reliable operation in high-vibration environments, CUI Inc recommends securing the module to the PCB using screws or a suitable adhesive. Additionally, the PCB should be designed to minimize flexure and vibration transmission to the module. It's also recommended to follow the IPC-9592 standard for vibration testing and qualification.

  • CUI Inc provides derating curves for temperature and altitude in their application notes. The derating curves indicate the maximum recommended operating conditions for the PJ-010AH module. For example, the module's output power should be derated by 1% for every 1°C above 40°C, and by 1% for every 1,000 feet above sea level.

  • CUI Inc recommends implementing OCP and OVP using external components, such as fuses, current-sensing resistors, and voltage supervisors. The OCP threshold should be set to 120% of the module's maximum rated current, and the OVP threshold should be set to 110% of the module's maximum rated voltage.

  • CUI Inc recommends using a low-ESR ceramic capacitor with a value of 10uF to 22uF for the input capacitor. The capacitor should be rated for the maximum input voltage and have a temperature rating of at least 105°C.
