Apex recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane, and thermal vias under the package to dissipate heat. A heat sink or thermal pad can also be used to improve thermal performance.
Use a voltage regulator or a voltage limiter to prevent overvoltage. Add a current sense resistor and a fuse or a current limiter to prevent overcurrent. Also, ensure the device is operated within the recommended operating conditions.
Apex recommends a 50Ω input termination and a 50Ω output termination for optimal performance. The output termination should be able to handle the maximum output current and voltage swing.
Use a shielded enclosure, keep the PCB layout compact, and use a common-mode choke or a ferrite bead to filter out high-frequency noise. Also, ensure the device is operated within the recommended frequency range.
The recommended operating temperature range for the PA73 is -40°C to +85°C. However, the device can be operated up to +125°C with derated performance.
