  • Apex Microtechnology recommends a 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a thermal pad connected to a large copper area for heat dissipation. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended. Additionally, a thermal interface material (TIM) with a thermal conductivity of 1 W/m-K or higher is suggested.

  • Apex Microtechnology recommends using external overvoltage protection (OVP) and overcurrent protection (OCP) circuits to prevent damage to the device. A fuse or a current-limiting resistor can be used for OCP, while a zener diode or a voltage regulator can be used for OVP.

  • Apex Microtechnology recommends using a low-pass filter (LPF) or a band-pass filter (BPF) at the input and output of the PA241DF to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise. A pi-filter or a T-filter can be used for this purpose.

  • Apex Microtechnology recommends using a voltage regulator or a voltage reference to ensure a stable bias voltage. The recommended bias voltage is 15V, but it can be adjusted between 12V to 18V depending on the application. A bias resistor network can be used to set the quiescent current.
