MPF5020CMMACES Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. Keep the high-frequency signals away from the power plane and use a common mode filter to reduce EMI.

  • Use a low-ESR capacitor (e.g., 10uF) close to the VCC pin and a 1uF capacitor in parallel to filter out high-frequency noise. Ensure the power supply is stable and can provide the required current.

  • The recommended clock frequency is 25MHz, but it can operate up to 50MHz. However, higher frequencies may require additional decoupling and signal integrity considerations.

  • Use a common mode filter (e.g., a ferrite bead) on the USB lines, and ensure the PCB layout is optimized for EMI reduction. Also, use a shielded cable and connector to minimize radiation.

  • The maximum cable length is 3 meters, but this can be extended up to 5 meters with the use of active repeaters or hubs. However, signal integrity and EMI considerations must be taken into account.
