The recommended power-up sequence is to apply VDD first, followed by VREF, and then the digital inputs. This ensures proper device operation and prevents latch-up or other unexpected behavior.
To ensure accurate voltage reference output, it is essential to decouple the VREF pin with a 0.1uF ceramic capacitor to GND, and also to use a low-noise, low-impedance power supply for VDD. Additionally, the VREF pin should be bypassed with a 10uF capacitor to GND for improved noise rejection.
The maximum capacitive load that can be driven by the MCP48FEB28-20E/ST's DAC output is 200pF. Exceeding this limit may cause instability or oscillations in the output signal.
To implement a voltage buffer or op-amp with the MCP48FEB28-20E/ST's DAC output, use an external op-amp with a high input impedance and low input bias current, such as the OP07 or OP27. The op-amp should be configured in a non-inverting amplifier configuration with a gain of 1 to maintain the DAC output voltage.
To minimize noise and ensure accurate operation, it is recommended to follow a star-grounding layout, keep analog and digital signals separate, and use a solid ground plane. The VREF pin should be routed away from noisy digital signals, and the DAC output should be routed to the load with a short, low-impedance path.
