The maximum sampling rate of the MCP3201 is 100 ksps (kilosamples per second) for a single channel, and 50 ksps for multiple channels.
To configure the MCP3201 for differential mode, connect the positive input to VIN+ and the negative input to VIN-. For pseudo-differential mode, connect the positive input to VIN+ and the negative input to GND.
The VREF pin is used to set the reference voltage for the ADC. It can be connected to an external voltage reference or to the internal 2.048V reference voltage.
The MCP3201 requires a clock signal to operate. You can use an external clock source or the internal clock oscillator. The clock frequency should be between 100 kHz and 1.35 MHz.
The power consumption of the MCP3201 depends on the operating mode and clock frequency. In normal mode, the typical power consumption is 350 μA at 5V and 100 ksps.
