MAX3421EETJ+ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • The MAX3421EETJ+ supports cable lengths up to 3 meters (10 feet) for full-speed devices and up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) for low-speed devices.

  • The MAX3421EETJ+ can be configured for self-powered or bus-powered operation by connecting the VBUS pin to the power source and setting the CFG pin accordingly. For self-powered operation, connect VBUS to an external power source and set CFG high. For bus-powered operation, connect VBUS to the USB bus and set CFG low.

  • The SUSPEND pin is used to put the device into a low-power suspend mode when driven low. This pin can be connected to the SUSPEND signal from the USB host controller to reduce power consumption when the device is not in use.

  • The 1.5kΩ pull-up resistor on the D+ line is required for full-speed device operation. It can be connected externally or internally using the PU pin on the MAX3421EETJ+. If using an external resistor, ensure it is connected between the D+ line and VCC.

  • The MAX3421EETJ+ supports data transfer rates up to 12 Mbps for full-speed devices and up to 1.5 Mbps for low-speed devices.
