A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. The device should be placed near a thermal pad or heat sink to dissipate heat efficiently.
Use a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during start-up, and a voltage supervisor to ensure the device is fully powered on before enabling the output. During shutdown, use a power-good signal to ensure the output is fully discharged.
The LTM8047MPY can drive up to 10uF of capacitive load, but it's recommended to use a maximum of 4.7uF to ensure stability and optimal performance.
Use a low-ESR output capacitor, add a noise-reducing capacitor (e.g., 10nF) between the output and ground, and ensure good PCB layout practices to minimize noise coupling.
A 10uF to 22uF X5R or X7R ceramic capacitor is recommended for the input, placed as close to the device as possible to minimize noise and ensure stability.
