A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. The top layer should have a large copper area for heat dissipation, and the device should be placed near a thermal pad or heat sink.
Use a soft-start circuit to limit the inrush current during start-up, and ensure that the input voltage rises slowly (e.g., 10ms to 100ms) to prevent excessive current draw. For shutdown, use a soft-shutdown circuit to gradually reduce the output voltage.
A low-ESR ceramic capacitor (e.g., X5R or X7R) with a value of 10uF to 22uF is recommended. The capacitor should be placed close to the VIN pin and have a low inductance path to the device.
Use a low-noise input voltage source, add a noise filter (e.g., RC filter) at the input, and ensure good PCB layout practices (e.g., separate analog and digital grounds, minimize loop areas). Additionally, use a low-ESR output capacitor and consider adding a post-regulator or filter stage.
The maximum ambient temperature for reliable operation is 85°C, but this can be extended to 105°C with proper heat sinking and airflow. However, the device's reliability and lifespan may be affected at higher temperatures.
