LT3033IUDC#PBF Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Keep the thermal pad connected to the ground plane to improve heat dissipation.

  • Use a compensation capacitor (CC) between the COMP and FB pins. The value of CC depends on the gain setting and output capacitor. Consult the application note for guidance.

  • The maximum output current is 3A, but it's limited by the thermal performance of the package and PCB. De-rate the current capability based on the ambient temperature and thermal resistance.

  • The device is rated for operation up to 125°C, but the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C. Ensure proper thermal design and derate the output current accordingly.

  • Use a low-ESR output capacitor, add a noise-reducing capacitor (CNR) between the NOISE FILTER pin and GND, and ensure a low-impedance power supply to the VIN pin.
