Texas Instruments recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a copper plane on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended for the thermal plane.
To prevent oscillations, ensure that the output capacitor has a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) and is placed close to the regulator. Additionally, use a minimum output capacitance of 10uF and a maximum ESR of 1 ohm. Also, decouple the input with a 1uF capacitor.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of 15V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to 12V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the internal circuitry.
The LM111WGRLQMLV is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C. Ensure proper heat sinking and thermal management to prevent overheating.
