  • The L6227D can operate from -40°C to 150°C, but the maximum junction temperature (TJ) should not exceed 150°C.

  • The inductor value depends on the output voltage, input voltage, and switching frequency. A good starting point is to use the inductor selection guide in the datasheet or consult with an application note from STMicroelectronics.

  • Keep the switching node (SW) as small as possible, use a solid ground plane, and keep the input and output capacitors close to the IC. Also, use a shielded inductor and keep the layout symmetrical to reduce EMI.

  • The output voltage can be adjusted by changing the resistor divider ratio (R1 and R2) connected to the FB pin. Use the formula in the datasheet to calculate the required resistor values.

  • The EN (enable) pin is used to turn the converter on or off. Connect it to a logic signal (e.g., from a microcontroller) to enable or disable the converter. When EN is low, the converter is in shutdown mode.
