EAC-10-222 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Cosel recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area under the module, connected to a solid ground plane, to ensure good heat dissipation. A minimum of 2 oz copper thickness is recommended.

  • To ensure reliable start-up and operation with a high-capacitance load, Cosel recommends adding a soft-start circuit and/or an output capacitor with a low ESR value to reduce inrush current and voltage overshoot.

  • Cosel recommends keeping the input voltage deviation within ±10% of the nominal input voltage to ensure reliable operation and to prevent damage to the module.

  • While the EAC-10-222 is rated for operation up to 80°C, Cosel recommends derating the output power by 2.5% per degree above 60°C to ensure reliable operation and to prevent overheating.

  • Cosel recommends using external OVP and UVP circuits, such as a voltage supervisor IC, to detect and respond to abnormal input voltage conditions and protect the module from damage.
