ROHM recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended, and the thermal pad should be connected to a ground plane or a dedicated heat sink.
To ensure stable operation with a high-ESR capacitor, ROHM recommends adding a 1-10nF ceramic capacitor in parallel with the output capacitor to reduce the overall ESR. Additionally, the output capacitor should be placed as close as possible to the BA33JC5T.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device. It's recommended to use a voltage divider or a clamp circuit to limit the voltage on the EN pin.
The BA33JC5T is rated for operation up to 105°C. However, the device's performance and reliability may degrade at high temperatures. ROHM recommends derating the output current and voltage according to the temperature derating curve provided in the datasheet.
To troubleshoot oscillations or instability issues, check the PCB layout for proper grounding, decoupling, and routing. Ensure that the input and output capacitors are properly selected and placed. Also, verify that the feedback network is correctly implemented and that the gain and phase margins are sufficient.
