ARG81300SESWTR Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Allegro recommends a 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane on the bottom layer, and a separate power plane for the VCC and GND pins. Additionally, keep the analog and digital traces separate and avoid running them near each other.

  • To ensure accurate current sensing, make sure to follow the recommended PCB layout, use a low-impedance current sense resistor, and keep the sense lines as short as possible. Also, avoid routing high-frequency signals near the sense lines.

  • Although the datasheet specifies a maximum VCC voltage of 5.5V, it's recommended to keep the VCC voltage below 5V to ensure reliable operation and prevent damage to the device.

  • The thermal pad on the ARG81300SESWTR is connected to the GND pin and should be connected to a solid ground plane on the PCB to ensure proper heat dissipation. Use a thermal interface material (TIM) and follow the recommended PCB layout to minimize thermal resistance.

  • Allegro recommends using a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor with a voltage rating of 10V or higher for the VCC bypass capacitor. This helps to filter out noise and ensure stable operation.
