24AA16-E/P Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • The maximum clock frequency for the 24AA16-E/P is 400 kHz for the 100 kHz and 400 kHz devices, and 1 MHz for the 1 MHz devices.

  • Page writes are limited to 16 bytes, and block writes are limited to 128 bytes. The device will automatically wrap around to the beginning of the page or block if the write exceeds the page or block boundary.

  • The WP (Write Protect) pin is used to prevent writes to the entire device or to specific blocks of memory. When WP is tied to VCC, the entire device is write-protected. When WP is tied to GND, the device can be written to, but specific blocks can be write-protected using the block protection bits.

  • The 24AA16-E/P has a built-in retry mechanism for writes. If a write is interrupted by a reset or power loss, the device will automatically retry the write operation when power is restored.
